HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A 40-year-old middle school teacher is accused of having a romantic relationship with a 14-year-old student, the Hiillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jason McClain Osborne, 40, of Apollo Beach, was charged with one count each of lewd or lascivious conduct (touch) and an unlawful use of two-way communications device, according to jail records.

Deputies said Osborne, a teacher at Ferrell Middle Magnet School in Tampa, privately communicated with a 14-year-old student via a social media app. He established a romantic relationship with the girl and met with her on one occasion.
