Deputies: Man Tased Teen After Boy Laughed When Hit with Belt

Waren Gibson | Pasco Sheriff | Arrests

The man said he tried to discipline the teen by hitting him “multiple times” with a belt, Pasco deputies said.

PASCO COUNTY – A Land O’ Lakes man was arrested after he admitted using a Taser to discipline a 17 year old who laughed when hit with a belt, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.

Waren D. Gibson, 50, of Land O’ Lakes, was charged with one count of child abuse. The boy was not injured by either the Taser or the belt.

Pasco deputies said Gibson admitted that he used a “cane” Taser on the inside of the boy’s left leg to discipline the teen.

Gibson told deputies that he had disciplined the teen by spanking him with the belt multiple times on his buttocks but the boy had just laughed at him. Gibson said he then used the Taser because the belt did not work.

According to the arrest affidavit, the teen told deputies that Gibson had used the Taser one time for about two seconds on his inside left thigh over his shorts.
