The family asked deputies to investigate because they had not heard from a relative, Pinellas deputies said.

OLDSMAR – Deputies are investigating a murder-suicide that left an Oldsmar man and woman dead of gunshot wounds, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Benjamin First, 51, and a 52-year-old woman were found dead in an Oldsmar condominium. Relatives have withheld the woman’s name.

Deputies said they went to the condo in the Eastlake Woodlands Country Club about 10:14 p.m. Tuesday (June 4) after the woman’s relatives called 911, saying they had not been able to get in touch with her, and requested law enforcement to check on her. The family told deputies they were concerned because there was a history of domestic violence between the woman and her paramour.

When deputies arrived at the residence, no one answered the door and deputies forced entry into the condominium to check on her.

Once inside, deputies said, they found Mr. First and the woman dead from gunshot wounds. Detectives said they have determined it to be a murder-suicide.
