Deputies Charge 2 Teens in St. Pete Beach Drive-By Shooting

A man from Dallas, TX, was shot while walking on the sidewalk on Gulf Boulevard.

ST. PETE BEACH – Two teens have been arrested in connection with a shooting Saturday (Oct. 28) that injured a man from Dallas, TX, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas Loudin, 18, of St. Petersburg, was charged with one count each of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and of shooting or throwing deadly missile into an occupied vehicle. Deputies said the charge of shooting or throwing a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle is in reference to a case from Treasure Island was investigated by the Treasure Island Police Department.

Pinellas Shreiff’s deputies today (Oct. 31) filed an additional charged against Loudin – shooting or throwing a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle. The new charge is in connection with an incident about 1 p.m. Saturday at 6850 Beach Plaza. Deputies said Christopher Dalbo was parked with his girlfriend when they heard a distinct “firecracker pop” sound and the rear window was shot. A white older sedan was seen traveling south away from the scene.

Bailey Jenkins, 18, of Tarpon Springs, was charged with one count of principal aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Charges filed by Treasure Island include one count principle, shooting
or throwing deadly missile into an occupied vehicle.

The original aggravated battery charges stem from a drive-by shooting that happened about 12:16 a.m. Saturday. Kurt Alan Lang, 51, of Dallas, was walking with his cousin near the Beachcomber Resort, 6200 Gulf Blvd. in St. Pete Beach, when he was shot. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said the firearm used in the shooting was a high powered pellet gun. Both Loudin and Jenkins admitted to drinking alcohol, shooting randomly at objects and at Lang, deputies said.
