CLEARWATER – A homeless man has been charged in connection with the shooting death Friday (Jan. 26) of a Clearwater man, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Dale Eugene Washington, 22, was charged with second degree homicide in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Jesse De. Cairo Jr. of Clearwater. Washington was arrested about 4 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 28) in the Orlando area. He was booked into the Orange County Jail and will be brought back to Pinellas County.

Deputies said they were called to Mr. Cairo’s home about 4:11 a.m. Friday after receiving reports of gunshots.They found Mr. Cairo at the end of his driveway. He was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.
