BROOKSVILLE – A Brooksville man was arrested Wednesday (Aug. 2) after selling cocaine and other drugs to undercover officers, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said.

Anthony Brown, 30, of Brooksville, is charged with trafficking in cocaine, sale and possession of cocaine, trafficking in hydromorphone, sale and possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, possession of a conveyance for the purpose to sell cocaine and a controlled substance, possession of a structure for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine and hydromorphone, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies said they served the search and arrest warrants on Brown after a lengthy investigation during which undercover detectives purchased cocaine and prescription pills from him on several occasions. The investigation began after the sheriff’s vice and narcotics unit received a tip that Brown was selling cocaine and pills at various locations throughout Hernando County.

As a result of the search, deputies found trafficking amounts of cocaine and hydromorphone pills as well as other controlled substances, marijuana, paraphernalia indicative of narcotic sales, and U.S. currency.
