One Dead after Pasco Shooting

Another man is in critical condition, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says.

PASCO COUNTY – One man is dead and another in critical condition after a shooting Friday (Oct. 7) afternoon, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Demetrius Lott, 27, of Dade City died at a hospital of his wounds. Daryll Collins, 44, also of Dade City, was listed in critical condition early this morning (Oct. 8), deputies said.

Deputies responded to a call about a shooting near the intersection of Johnson Street and Dixie Drive about 5:53 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, they found Collins and Mr. Lott, who were taken to the hospital. Deputies said Antonie Lee Kennedy, 35, of 38726 Island Ave. in Dade City, was there when they arrived. Kennedy was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is under investigation in relation to the shooting incident, deputies said.

Deputies are looking for witnesses of this incident and are requesting anyone with information to contact the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
