Two Dead, One Injured in St. Petersburg Shooting

The injured man is expected to survive, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG – Two men died and one was injured in a shooting Monday (Jan. 21) on 34th Street S, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

Roger Lee Ford Jr., 42, and Tywan Jeremiah Armstrong, 39, died at the scene.

Carlos Demetrius Young, 44, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was listed in stable condition late Monday night.

Police said they were called to 34th Street and 18th Avenue S about 9:41 p.m. for a call of shots fired.

When officers arrived there was a crowd of about 100 people gathered in a parking lot on the corner. Officers found the three men who had been shot.

The intersection was closed for several house for the investigation.
