The wolf pack will be out from 7 p.m. tonight (July 1) through 5 a.m. tomorrow (July 2).  But policing agencies will maintain stepped up enforcement the entire weekend.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Pinellas County deputies, in conjunction with multiple Pinellas County police agencies, will conduct a DUI wolf pack operation, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

They will maintain a proactive profile over the July 4th holiday weekend on the highly-traveled roadways of Pinellas County. The operation will begin Friday night and continue into early Saturday morning. This operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s on-going commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving. The goal of the wolf pack is to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances. Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Remove Intoxicated Drivers USA Inc., and the Suncoast Safety Council will be supporting law enforcement during the operation. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting wolf packs and DUI checkpoints continuously throughout the year.
