Clearwater Police Officer Accused of Domestic Battery

Christopher England | Clearwater Police | Arrests

He will be placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.

CLEARWATER – A Clearwater police officer was arrested this morning (Oct. 31) after a domestic incident, the Clearwater Police Department said.

Christopher England was charged with one count each of domestic battery and tampering with a witness after officers were called to his home. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail this morning.

The incident started as a verbal dispute shortly after midnight and then grew physical. Police said the tampering charge stems from England’s trying to deny his girlfriend the ability to call 911 on her cell phone.

England has been a police officer with Clearwater for five years. He will be placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.
