Clearwater Police Hope Billboards Bring Answers in Double Murder
David and Mina Swan were found murdered in their Clearwater home Sept. 29.
Outfront has donated space on several billboards across the Tampa Bay area. The billboards urge anyone with information in the slaying of David and Mina Swan to come forward to help in the case. The Swans were found dead in their Flushing Avenue home Sept. 29.
“We are grateful to have a community partner such as Outfront to help detectives get information in this case,” Clearwater police Chief Daniel Slaughter said. “Their assistance is tremendously appreciated.”
Said Rusty McClelland, Tampa general manager at Outfront Media, “Billboards are a time-proven way to get in front of large numbers of people throughout the day, which is what makes them such an effective tool to assist in police efforts. When asked, we knew there was a way we could help. We hope Florida residents and visitors will see the message on our billboards and come together as a community to share information and help police bring this person to justice.”
The family of the Swans has donated $25,000 in reward money for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. Crime Stoppers of Pinellas County is offering a $3,000 reward Crime Stoppers plans a similar billboard effort.
The Outfront billboards are based at high-visibility locations such as U.S. 19, Hillsborough Avenue and Ulmerton Road.
Anyone with information in the case should call Clearwater Police at (727) 562-4141.
