Clearwater police say he drove the wrong way for miles on U.S. 19 N.

CLEARWATER – A Largo man is accused of drunken driving and of driving the wrong way on U.S. 19 N, the Clearwater Police Department said.

Donte A. Jackson, 38, of Largo, was charged with one count of driving under the influence.

Police said they received multiple calls early Saturday morning (Sept. 29) about a wrong-way driver on U.S. 19 N. Jackson, they said, traveled south in the northbound lanes from Curlew Road almost to Drew Street where officers were able to get him stopped. He was arrested about 3 a.m.
