Two Charged, Two Sought in Tampa Home Invasion

The two were caught after a chase, Tampa police said.

TAMPA – Two men accused in a home invasion were captured after a chase in a stolen car and a foot pursuit Thursday (Aug. 23) night, the Tampa Police Department said.

No officers or suspects were injured during the pursuit. A man was injured during the home invasion and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His name was not released.

Daniel Luis Santana, 21, of Tampa was charged with two counts of carrying a concealed firearm and one count each of  home invasion robbery, resisting an officer without violence, and aggravated battery. Bradley Scott Kincaid, 24, also of Tampa, was charged with one count each of home invasion robbery, fleeing to elude, no valid driver’s license and grand theft auto.

Police were called to the 1900 block of E Genesee Street about 11:23 p.m. for a report that shots had been fired. Officers saw a Kia Soul fleeing the area at a high rate of speed. Police said they determined that a home invasion had occurred and pursued the Kia.

The Kia went into the skate park at the Perry Harvey Park, 900 E Scott St. where a brief foot pursuit took place. The Kia was reported as stolen from the Tampa International Airport.

Police said that at least four masked and armed suspects had forced entry to the Genesee Street home. A shot was fired inside the house, however, no one was struck. One of the men in the house was pistol whipped, police said.

No other information is available about the two suspects who were not caught. The investigation is ongoing.
