Brooksville Man Charged with DUI Manslaughter

The charge arose from the death of a Brooksville woman, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

BROOKSVILLE – A Brooksville man is accused of DUI manslaughter in connection with the death of a woman after a traffic crash Sunday (Dec. 3), the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Sandra Sevilla, 53, of Brooksville, died at Oak Hill Hospital, where she was taken after the crash.

Rodger J. Carr, 51, of Brooksville, was charged with DUI manslaughter. He received minor injuries in the crash and was arrested after he was treated at Oak Hill Hospital.

The crash happened about 7:07 p.m. at the intersection of Centralia and Sunshine Grove roads. Troopers said Carr was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro east on Centralia at a high rate of speed. Ms. Sevilla was driving a 2009 Honda Fit, which was stopped at the intersection.

She turned left from Sunshine Grove into the path of the Camaro. As a result, the two vehicles collided.
