The crash happened in September; the arrest came Monday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

HERNANDO COUNTY – A Brooksville man was accused of negligent manslaughter Monday (May 28) in connection with the death of a motorcyclist from injuries he received in a September traffic crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Adam C. Cremin, 27, of Brooksville, died Sept. 21 at the Regiional Medical Center of Bayonet Point of injuries he received in the crash. He had not been wearing a helmet.

Joshua Aaron Johnson, 25, of Brooksville, was charged with one count each of negligent manslaughter, driving while license suspended resulting in death, failure to register a motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle in an unsafe condition.

The crash happened about 10:39 p.m. Sept. 20 on Kurt Street in Hernando County.

Troopers said Johnson was driving a 1985 Honda moped north on Kurt Street ahead of Mr. Cremin who was riding a 2003 Kawasaki KS4. Johnson stopped to allow Mr. Cremin to catch up, but Mr. Cremin did not see him and the Kawasaki hit the Honda. Mr. Cremin was thrown from the Kawasaki.
