Three Arrested in Tampa Accused of St. Petersburg Robbery

Police officers followed them across the Howard Frankland Bridge, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

ST. PETERSBURG/TAMPA – Police from St. Petersburg and Tampa have accused three people of being involved in the robbery at a St. Petersburg apartment complex.

Javon Scott, 25, of Tampa; John A. Ellis, 27, of St. Petersburg; and Jienna or Jennie Williams, 28, of St. Petersburg; are facing one count of armed robbery filed by the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Scott is also charged with one count of carrying a concealed weapon from the Tampa Police Department. Tampa police have charged Ellis with one count each of felon in possession of a firearm and a violation of probation – fleeing and eluding. Tampa officers have charged Williams with one count of aggravated battery.

St. Petersburg police said that about 2:56 a.m. today (Aug. 2), they became aware of a robbery at the Tamarind Bay Apartments, 11400 4th St. N. Officers said they followed the suspects across the Howard Frankland Bridge to the area near Westshore and Kennedy boulevards in Tampa where the suspects crashed their car and ran.

With help from Tampa police, the three were caught.
