Multiple skimmers were discovered on gas pumps at a Riverview station.

RIVERVIEW – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three men in connection with a gas station skimmer investigation in Riverview.

Yunior Torres-Herrera, 33,; Alain Garcia Blanco, 32; and David Fernandez, 20, all of Naples, were each charged with one count of possession of a skimming device and three counts of possession of burglary tools. More charges could follow, as detectives work to determine if the three accused are linked to other skimmer cases in and outside the area.

Since Oct. 4, deputies said, there have been multiple skimmers discovered at gas pumps at a station located at 13202 Summerfield Blvd. in Riverview. Around 3:20 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 20), surveillance cameras recorded a white Ford F250 arriving at the same gas station. A passenger walked over to a pump as the driver pulled up next to the pump to block view of the suspect from the street.

The suspect tried to open multiple pumps, which caused damage to the equipment.

The pickup truck was stopped by a deputy after leaving the gas station. Detectives searched the truck and found a skimming device component (modified USB with a wire harness), a gas station pump key, a crow
bar and a long flathead screwdriver.

The three occupants, Torres-Herrera, Blanco, and Fernandez were all arrested.

Surveillance video of the incident can be found at youtube.com.
