Reuben Foster | Tampa Police | Arrests

He pushed and slapped his girlfriend during an argument at a Tampa hotel, police said.

TAMPA – Reuben Foster, a linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers, was arrested Saturday (Nov. 24) after an argument with his girlfriend turned physical, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Foster, 24, of Santa Clara, CA, was charged with one count of first degree misdemeanor domestic violence.

Police said they went to the Grand Hyatt Hotel, 2900 Bayport Drive, shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday to investigate a domestic violence call.

Foster and a woman had had a verbal dispute. The woman told officers that, during the argument, Foster slapped her phone out of her hand, pushed her in the chest area, and slapped her with an open hand on the right side of her face. Officers said they saw a one-inch scratch on the woman’s left collar bone.

Police said the woman and Foster had lived together in the past and had had an on-again-off-again relationship over the past three years.

This is not Foster’s first brush with law enforcement. According to ESPN, Foster has been charged in the past with offenses that include accusations of domestic violence. Those domestic violence charges were dismissed when a judge ruled that there was no evidence to support the charges after his ex-girlfriend dropped the charges.

The 49ers are scheduled to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today. at Raymond  James Stadium.
