10th Grader Had Gun in Trunk at School, Hillsborough Deputies Say
The school principal received an email reporting the weapon, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
RIVERVIEW – A teen was arrested today (April 30) after an unloaded gun was found in the trunk of his vehicle, which was on school property, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 16 year old is a student at Kids Community College Charter School, 10550 Johanna Ave. in Riverview. He is charged with possessing a firearm on school property.
Deputies said they were called to the school after the principal received an email saying one of his students had a gun in the trunk of his vehicle. The principal confronted the teen about the gun and he admitted to having the weapon.
A search of his trunk revealed an unloaded Century Arms 9 mm, semi-automatic handgun.
