HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – The Hillsborough State Attorney’s Office has announced the launch of a Community Council as part of its commitment to community engagement and transparency.

The council will consist of 20 residents and representatives from organizations that embody the diversity of Hillsborough County. The council’s mission is to help the SAO build a safer community while promoting justice and fairness for everyone.

Council members will meet with an SAO representative every other month to engage in candid discussions and provide community feedback pertaining to matters of criminal justice in Hillsborough, as well as gain information on SAO policy, programs, and initiatives. Members are expected to share ideas, interests, and concerns that impact their communities and organizations related to public safety, crime prevention, and the criminal justice process.
