The Florida Highway Patrol is collecting Toys for Tots this season.

TAMPA BAY – The Florida Highway Patrol is once again taking part in the Toys for Tots drive.

Toys for Tots is a campaign spearheaded by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Its primary goal is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. The corps does this by is to collecting new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distributing them as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

Toys for Tots collection boxes are located in the front lobbies of the FHP’s five Tampa Bay area stations . They must be delivered between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The station locations:

Hillsborough County – 11305 N McKinley Drive, Tampa

Pinellas County – 6855 62nd Ave. N, Pinellas Park

Pasco County – 17028 Ayers Road, Brooksville

Hernando County – 11319 Ponce DeLeon Blvd., Brooksville

Polk County – 3247 Lakeland Hills Blvd., Lakeland
