Pinellas Schools Name Finalists for Educator of Year

The 10 finalists were chosen from a field of 124.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A panel of judges has chosen 10 finalists for Pinellas County Schools Outstanding Educator of the Year.

The judges scored the 124 nominees on multiple criteria. The finalists will undergo an interview process and a second round of scoring by a different panel of judges, who will select the final winner.

All of the finalists will be honored, and the 2015-16 Outstanding Educator of the Year will be announced, at the annual Evening of Excellence, which is presented by the Pinellas Education Foundation at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater Feb. 2.

The Top 10 Finalists are:
· Deanna Barthel, Countryside High School
· Wendy Bruce, Ponce De Leon Elementary School
· Sarah Dobes, East Lake Middle School
· Alicia Isaac, Boca Ciega High School
· Marissa McCarthy, Thurgood Marshall Fundamental Middle School
· Randy McGonegal, Palm Harbor University High School
· Jennifer Raffaele, Bardmoor Elementary School
· Christine Rose, Fairmount Park Elementary School
· Denise Steele, Frontier Elementary School
· Jennifer Velez, Sexton Elementary School
