The St. Petersburg Police Department and Safe Kids will help.

ST. PETERSBURG – A car seat is one of the best ways you can protect your child while traveling, but searching for the right one isn’t an easy task.

The St. Petersburg Police Department and Safe Kids have scheduled a class to help guide you in your decision-making process and teach you how to install and use your car seat correctly. You will also learn when to transition your child to another seat and how to keep your child safe as he or she grows. A nationally certified child passenger safety technician teaches all classes and will also assist you as you install your car seat in your vehicle.

The class is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 17) at the St. Petersburg Police Department, 1300 First Ave. N. Participants must register online in advance.
