The program would target residents of the city’s community redevelopment area in south St. Petersburg.

ST. PETERSBURG – As the city moves forward to invest in the growth and success of south St. Pete, a new Workforce Readiness and Development Program will focus on linking residents of the community redevelopment area with job opportunities.

The city invites qualified firms to submit proposals for the Workforce Readiness and Development Program to include the development of new, innovative programs or expansion of existing programs.

The city’s Workforce Readiness and Development Program will involve opportunities and services for unemployed young adults between ages 16 and 24 years, single-parent households, as well as ex-offenders and/or unemployed residents of the CRA census tracts with the highest unemployment rates. The South St. Petersburg CRA boundaries are generally between Fourth Street and 49th Street from Second Avenue N to 30th Avenue S.

Organizations or individuals who can develop and provide such programs are encouraged to attend a pre-proposal conference at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 13) at the Enoch Davis Center, 1111 18th Ave. S.

Interested parties can register online at stpete.org. The online request for proposal will close at 3 p.m. Jan. 10. All RFPs for the Workforce Readiness and Development Program must be submitted before then. The request for proposal document can be viewed online under “Current Solicitations” at athena.stpete.org.
