Innovation Overnight is a 20-hour design-a-thon where college students from across Tampa Bay solve real-world problems proposed from the local business community.

ST. PETERSBURG – All Tampa Bay area college students are invited to show off their creative and analytical skills April 10-11 during an overnight problem-solving contest at the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg. Called “Innovation Overnight,” students will solve real problems local business leaders throw at them. The event starts at 3 p.m. April 10 and lasts until noon April 11 at the USF-St. Petersburg Student Center, Sixth Avenue S and Second Street.

“Only the most talented and brave students will commit their energy and brain trust to solve these important business problems in novel and unique ways,” said Michelle Royal, CEO of Royal Innovation Design Group, one of the sponsors. Other sponsors include Valpak, Jabil, Tampa Bay Technology Forum and the Tampa Bay Rowdies.  The host is the university’s Kate Tiedemann College of Business.

For information and to register, visit usfsp.edu.  The public is invited to see the results of the students’ work from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on April 11.
