On Brooksville’s Main Street, an Old-Fashioned Christmas

A portion of Main Street will be closed to through traffic for the event.

BROOKSVILLE – The city of Brooksville and Hernando County government invite you to join them for the 2015 Christmas on Main Street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 10). At 7 p.m., the lighting of the Christmas Tree will take place, followed by an hour of holiday entertainment.

Soll down Main Street in downtown Brooksville and enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas.Main Street, between Jefferson and Broad Streets, will be closed to through traffic; many of the downtown merchants will be open extended hours as well as offering holiday treats and entertainment.

Kicking off the night from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., find out if you’re on the naughty or nice list and enjoy a visit and photo session with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the House of Passage, 5 N Main St., directly across from the historic Courthouse.

Back by popular demand: Patricia’s Boutique, 11 S Broad St., will feature a live display window “Patricia’s Windows Comes to Life.” Show times are at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Live models will be dressed in beautiful gowns.

Downtown Loser will offer two for one shakes as well as live entertainment.

Edward Jones Financial will be serving Christmas cookies and hot chocolate AND giving each child a small toy.

Brookstone Wines will offer a free wine tasting with samples of their seasonal Cranberry Chianti.

A Christmas-themed movie will be shown at Main Street Eatery (with popcorn, of course).

Stop by SunTrust for punch and cookies.

Children, bring your parents by the Gallery of Arts, 259 Howell Ave., for an ice cream cone or sundae at half price.

Rising Sun Bistro & Market will be hosting Christmas cookie decorating.

Artwork by Spring Hill Artists will be on display at Easy Street Home Décor.

Visit the Peace Tree Trading Post at 770 E Jefferson St. They will Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow at the top of the Hill.

Join the Holiday Open House offering from the Hawkins House, Westover’s Flowers, The Pearl Porch and Mallie Kyla’s Café.

Street vendors will sell holiday wares.
